Biography
Martha (Arms) Taylor was born on February 3, 1728 in Deerfield, Hampshire County, Province of Massachusetts. Her parents were Daniel Arms and Esther (Smead) Arms. Martha's father, Daniel Arms, married a second wife on 9/2/1937, the widow Mary (Hitchcock) Taylor. Mary brought with her a stepson and 2 sons of her own, Othneil Taylor and John Taylor.
Martha married Capt. Othniel Taylor on June 27, 1743 in Deerfield, Massachusetts.
Martha Arms married her stepbrother Othneil Taylor in Deerfield on 6/27/1743, when Martha was 14 years old. They likely moved to Charlemont MA that same year.
Together they had the following children: Samuel Taylor; Mary Jane (Taylor) Hitchock; Lemuel Taylor; Gen. Othniel Taylor; Tertius Taylor; Enos Taylor; Martha (Taylor) Johnson; William Taylor; Lidia Taylor; Rufus Taylor; Lucinda Taylor; Tirzah Taylor; Dally Taylor.
She died on May 5, 1802 in Charlemont, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, United States and was buried in Old Cemetery On Meetinghouse H, Charlemont, Ma.
