Biography
Most of the following is excerpted from the Mary Harvey article on Springfield Technical Community College's website:
Mary Arms Harvey, the daughter of Daniel Arms, Jr., and Mary Stebbins, was born in Deerfield, Massachusetts, on March 26, 1747.
She married Simeon Harvey of Montague in January 1768. Simeon had apprenticed at the blacksmith shop of her father's cousin, Jonathan Arms, then built his own shop once he and Mary were able to buy their own land in Deerfield. He served as a soldier in the American Revolution.[1]
They had nine living children together, and Mary died giving birth to their tenth child, who was stillborn. Mary was only 38 when she died on December 2, 1785. She was buried with her stillborn infant in her arms. Eight years later, in 1793, Simeon sold his house and land. He died at Bennington, Vermont on August 15, 1815, and is buried at Bennington in the Old First Church burial ground, (First Congregational Church) Bennington.

Unnamed infant, stillborn December 2, 1785.

Mary's maternal grandfather, John Stebbins, was captured in the Deerfield Raid at the age of 19 and redeemed.
