Birth

Nancy Armstrong was born about 1808, daughter of Alexander Armstrong (~1765 - ~1824) and Nancy (Prater) Armstrong (~1768 - ~1840).

Nancy died about 1847 aged ~39.

Research Notes

She is referenced in her father's will (Alexander Armstrong) and on her marriage license her mother Nancy granted permission for her marriage to William Hamilton on Leap Day 1828.

She is missing in the record after 1844 when her daughter Nancy Armilda Hamilton was born. She presumably passed between 1844 and 1850 when her family is listed in the 1850 census without her.

The source for Nancy's previous DOD of 1860 appears to be a conflation with this Find A Grave memorial Find A Grave: Memorial #32596129for someone who is clearly a different Nancy Armstrong. This person's DOB and DOD are the exact same day as the FamilySearch profile of Nancy Armstrong https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/L4JW-ZS8. It is unlikely they are the same person as that would require being married to 2 different people at the same time with kids from both marriages happening at the same time in different locations.

Because of her absence in the 1850 census and the age of her kids her DOD has been changed to around 1847.
