Lewis was born in 1858. He is the son of Edward Armstrong and Sarah Currell. When Lewis Armstrong was born on May 29, 1859, in Aylesford, Nova Scotia, his father, Edward, was 34 and his mother, Sarah, was 29. He had nine brothers and one sister. He died on January 31, 1859, in his hometown within a year of his birth. He is buried in Old Kingston Cemetery, Kingston, Kings County, Nova Scotia. [1]
