John Armstrong was an Assisted Immigrant to New South Wales.
John arrived in the Colony of New South Wales on 6 January 1857, with his wife Jane, and children Thomas aged 13, Mary aged 12, John aged 8, Isabella aged 5 and James, aged 3. They travelled on the 'New Great Britain'. [1]
They settled on the South Coast of NSW, but then made their way to the North Coast of NSW where they farmed at Nashua, outside Lismore. John is buried in Clunes Cemetery, NSW, which is 18kms from Lismore.
