Obituary

Armstrong - Capt J. M. Armstrong died at nine o'clock Thursday night at his home at the old Armstrong homestead, on the Straw Plains Pike, six miles from the city. The deceased was seventy-four years of age. Death terminated an illness of twelve weeks. He is survived by four sons, three daughters, one sister and one brother. The sons are Otis, Floyd, DeWitt and Clyde Armstrong. The daughters are Mrs. U. S. Kennedy, Mrs. C. R. White and Miss Daisy Armstrong. The sister is Mrs. Will Kennedy, and the brother is Capt. Wall Armstrong, of Iowa. Capt. Armstrong was a veteran of the federal army, commanding company B, Sixth Tennessee infantry.

Funeral service will be conducted from the home at eleven o'clock Sunday morning, followed by interment in the Armstrong cemetery. Burial will be under the auspices of Riverdale lodge, F. & A. M
