Biography
Research Note
An 1870 County History states he died ca 1850 in California. If this is accurate, he is not the same William Armstrong who died 5 May 1899, Mason Co IL, or the same who married Harriet Yorty (24 Mar 1853, Fulton Co IL) and/or Martha Armstrong (18 Apr 1864, Fulton Co IL). This explains why no census records after 1850 fit. It is also unlikely he was the Albert Armstrong who was living near a Mary Armstrong in Winnebago Co WI 1860.
