The Norwich Vital Records account of events in the life of Ebenezer Lamb, Eleazer Jewett and Mary Armstrong strongly suggest that Mary Armstrong , rather than Sarah Lamb was Eleazer Jewetts first wife. This is supported by the event records contained in the New England Marriages Prior to 1700, as well as the Norwich, New London vital Statistics.

There was confusion regarding the name of Eleazars first wife; either Mary Armstrong Lamb or Sarah Unknown Lamb. This apparently stemmed from a Boston Transcript article that had Sarah Unknown Lamb as Eleazar's first wife. The controversy has been resolved using records contained in the Norwich Vital Statistics, New England Marriages Prior to 1700, A Journal of American Ancestry, Volumes 6-7 (Google eBook); W.M. Clemens, 1916 - Genealogy - Page 3, which demonstrate that Mary Armstrong was Eleazar's first wife.
Note: The Book: Genealogy: A Journal of American Ancestry, Volumes 6-7 (Google eBook); W.M. Clemens, 1916 - Genealogy - Page 3. Contains the following entries:
By 1700 our Ebenezer Lamb was past history...having a Sarah marry an Ebenezer much later...1753 at RI may have caused the confusion between the Ebenezer Lamb wives/widows and their second husbands. Quick-803 15:28, 21 August 2014 (EDT) .
