Biography

Lydia was born about 1837.

Lydia was listed in the 1880 Census. [1]

Lydia Ann ARMSTRONG, wife of ZTL BURNS, was the dau. of Samuel ARMSTRONG and Margaret UNKNOWN. Samuel and Margaret migrated from east TN (we believe Hawkins Co.) in the mid-1850s. Lydia's siblings were James ARMSTRONG (1832-1913), Hannibal ARMSTRONG (who fought with the South in the CW), Abner ARMSTRONG, Mary Jane ARMSTRONG (who married a GILLINWATERS), Sarah E. ARMSTRONG ( who married John. H. COWDEN). This info comes from the will of Samuel ARMSTRONG, dated 2 Oct. 1866. The 1880 Polk Co., MO census shows Lydia A. BURNS, wife; Zaccheus T. BURNS, head of household; Roma A. BURNS, daughter b. 1879; Luther BURNS, son, b. 1875; Albert S. BURNS, son, b. 1871; Anna E. BURNS, dau, b. 1869; Cordelia B. BURNS, dau, b. 1864; William F. BURNS, son, b. 1859.
