Lilian was born in Brunnerton in1890. Lilian Armstrong was the daughter of Eliza Haisty and Thomas Armstrong, a blacksmith. Lilian married Jack Morris and the couple lived for a time in Waitara, where Jack ran a general store. Lilian had two children: Jeanne in 1924 and Merla in 1926. The Morris family relocated to Opunake and settled at Napier Street. Lilian passed away in Greymouth in 1933 and is buried with her father Thomas in the Greymouth Cemetery.
