Biography
Thomas was born on 15 September 1861 in Bonhill, Dunbartonshire.[1]
He came to New Zealand aboard the "Dunedin" with his family in 1874 [1]
Thomas Armstrong married Elizabeth Jane Haisty in New Zealand in 1890 [2]
They had one child
- Lilian Mary 9 Nov 1890[3]
Sadly Elizabeth died soon after on the 11 Nov 1890 aged 19 years[4]
GREY RIVER ARGUS, VOLUME XXXIX, ISSUE 6911, 13 NOVEMBER 1890, PAGE 2 FUNERAL NOTICE. The friends of T. ARMSTRONG are respectfully invited to follow the remains of his late wife to the place of Interment, No Town cemetery. The funeral cortege will leave Brunner THIS DAY (Thursday), at 11.30 am.[2][3]
He passed away in 1939. [5]
His burial is in the Karoro Cemetery, Greymouth[4]
