Biography
Hugh's first wife, Nancy Lanier Armstrong died in 1832.
Hugh C Armstrong would marry a 2nd time on March 18, 1838 to Mrs. Sarah Wilson (nee Green) at Davidson, Tennessee.[1][2]
On September 4, 1840 Hugh C Armstrong was appointed post master at Union Grove in Newton County.[3]
In 1850 Hugh C Armstrong and wife Sarah were farming at Marion in Newton County along with children Corilla (11), Baley P (9), Hugh (7) and infant Mary.[4]
In 1860 the family had moved to Neosho where Hugh was now a hotel keeper. Along with wife Sarah, sons Bailey and Hugh were in residence.[5]
