South West River, Monnoir Quebec was on the Estate of Colonel Sir John Johnson. The original name was Murray's Corner but was changed after the War of 1812. The hamlet's name was changed to St Brigide in 1848 and the County's name was changed Monoir to the Seignury (sic) of Iberville after the Quebec Rebellion of 1837 - 1938. The name was changed to the current name of St Brigide d'Iberville in 1956. The Riviere Sud-Ouest is a creek that flows into the Yamaska River just south of St Cesaire Quebec just north of Farnham. The Yamaska flows out of Lac Brome and into the St Lawrence River north of Montreal.
