Biography
Torgils Arnfinnson was born about 1660. In about 1686, he married his first wife, Guro Knutsdatter. He and Guro had seven children, the first one born in 1688. In 1713 he married again, to Synneva Jørgensdatter.
Ivar, a son born to Torgils with his second wife, Synneva, had several "transgressions" with Marta Larsdatter (illegitimate children). The Vossaboki (Volume 1, p. 203) states that because of this behavior, Ivar was to be beheaded by a sword and was not entitled to any of his father's property.
