Alexander Arundell was the second son of Nicholas Arundell of Trerice, Cornwall, and his wife, Johanna, the daughter and heir of Edward St John of Somersetshire.[1]
Alexander was the brother of:
Sir John Arundell of Trerice, Sheriff of Cornwall, married 1) Margaret, the daughter of Sir Hugh Courtenay, and 2) Anne, the daughter of Sir Walter Moyle of Estwell;[1]
Alexander married Jane, the daughter of William Lanyon and his wife, Thomasin, the daughter of Thomas Tregian.[1]
Alexander and Jane had children:
Thomas Arundell of Ley, died 3 March 1574, married Thomasine, buried December 1586 at Ponghill, the daughter of Thomas Cole of Slade, widow of Roger Grenville;[1]
Research Notes
The Visitation is somewhat confusing as it says:[1]
An Inquisition was held in 3 Edward for Nicholas Arundell of Trerice, in which lands were settled on Johanna his wife.
An Inquisition post mortem was held in 2 Edward IV (which was 4 March 1462-3 March 1463), in which Johanna was the widow of Nicholas Arundell of Trerise - so maybe this is her father's IPM?
Alexander Arundell, by deed dated 6 December 19 Edward IV, Lappford, co Devon, settled on him by his mother.

Was this Arundell born in 1426 or married in 1500? To keep both would have him getting married in his 70s, which is very unlikely for this time period.
