Biography

Nancy Ann (Ash) McPherson was born in 1772 in Logan County, Kentucky, the daughter of Thomas L. Ash, Sr. (1748–1801) and [?].

Note: An earlier version of this profile represented that Nancy's mother was Elizabeth (Stanton) Eldredge (1763-1766), however that could not have been possible because that Elizabeth Stanton was married to someone else, resided her entire short life in Stonington, Connecticut, and died before this Nancy Ash was born.

Nancy married Jesse McPherson (1765-1849) on 2 Sep 1788 in Frederick County, Virginia. Their son was:

  1. Mary McPherson (1789–Deceased)
  2. Rev. William McPherson (1789–1863)
  3. John B. McPherson (1793 - 1875)
  4. Milly Mc Pherson (1796–Deceased)

  8. Margaret Elizabeth McPherson (1800–1879)
  9. Elizabeth "Betsy" McPherson (1801–1865)
  10. Alexander McPherson (1801-1857 )
  11. Lewis McPherson (1803 - 1853)
  12. Jane McPherson (1805–Deceased)
  13. Rachel McPherson (1806–1881)

  15. Jesse McPherson, Jr. (1810-1882)
  16. Amos McPherson (1813–1889)
  17. Rachel McPherson (1814–1906)
  18. Alney M. "Allen" McPherson (1815-1875)

Nancy passed away in 1822 in Rosewood, Muhlenberg County, Kentucky and was buried at McPherson Cemetery, Dunmor, Muhlenberg County, Kentucky.
