Biography

Rebecca was born in 1803. She was the daughter of Reuben Ash and Elizabeth McGrew.

Rebecca married Phillip Shrake on 08 May 1823 in Harrison county, Indiana.[1]

In 1850, Rebecca, Phillip and their children were in Washington, Putnam county, Indiana.[2]

Phillip died in 1851 in Putnam county, Indiana. Some of Rebecca's children went to Hancock county, Illinois. Although the birthplace is listed as Indiana, this may be her in St. Marys, Hancock county, Illinois, living with the family of Duncan Edge.[3]

She married widower Jacob Lionberger on 15 Mar 1864 in Hancock county, Illinois.[4] His first wife was Elizabeth Edge.

In 1870, Jacob's household listed an "?abun Lionberger, born 1803-1804 in Kentucky, listing her "with son." [5] This may have been Rebecca. Perhaps she was living with or visiting one of her sons at the time.

She passed away in 1873 and was buried in Providence cemetery in Hancock county, Illinois. Although the listing gives her date of death as 1883, the tombstone photo on the site lists 1873 and death at age 70.[6] Her birth and date of death is listed as 1803 and 1873 on a Providence cemetery transcription hosted at the Hancock county Illinois genweb site.[7]
