1724; Dorset England. Details unknown however a birth registration records a Jonathon Ash, son of Marmaduke and Mary Ash having been christened on 10 February 1724 in Bridport, Dorset, England ^[2] While a Biblical Study of John Ash suggests a birthplace of Stockland, Dorset ^[3]

• Elizabeth was the daughter of Mark Goddard and his wife Hannah Rickards. Her parents died in 1736 (Mark) and 1737 (Hannah) and was taken into the care, with her sister Patty, of their uncle Samuel Rickards Jnr and benefited from a trust established by their grandfather Samuel Rickards Snr, a prominent person of Pershore who secured the site in Broad Street where the Baptist Church was established. It was most probably her presence in the congregation there that brought her to the attention of John !
