Bertha Winifred Ashby was born on 23 September 1903 in Bradford, Yorkshire, England, the daughter of Walter William Ashby and Alice Maud Stennett.^[1]

In 1911 Bertha was living at 28 Back Dudley Street, Bradford. ^[2]

She married Horace Milner Cousins at Zion Chapel, Maltby Street, Laisterdyke, Bradford on 19 June 1926.^[3]

In 1939 she was living with her husband and son at 68 Thornbury Drive, Bradford.^[4]

She remarried in 1973; to Ernest Liles. Their marriage was registered in Bradford, Yorkshire. ^[5]

She died aged 83. Her death was registered in 1986 in Blackpool and Flyde, Lancashire.^[6]
