Biography
In 1891, Elizabeth was the youngest of three children (James, Mary and Elizabeth) in the home of William and Charlotte Ashby at Drummond in Lanark County.[1] 1901 Census shows the family, now with 6 children, were farming at Bathurst. Lizzie's birth date is cited as February 24, 1890.[2]
In 1911, Lizzie was lodging in Perth where she worked as a seamer in a shoe factory.[3]
Elizabeth was born about 1891 in Fallbrook, Ontario to William Ashby and Charlotte Morris. On September 29, 1920, 29 year old Lizzie married 30 year old Herbert Thomas Gallagher at Perth in Lanark County.[4] The couple would take up farming in Bathurst Township.[5]
Elizabeth died in 1963 and was buried at Pinehurst Cemetery.[6]
