Biography

"ROBERT ASHBY (b. 1517), then of the age of nineteen years (in 1536), was her (Anne Ashby of Quenby) next heir. This gentleman united by marriage with Barbara,‘ daughter of George Ashby, esq. of Loseby, in Leicestershire, the two families of the name. By her, who died in 1598, aged one hundred and five, he had issue..."

Burke's shows a daughter Elizabeth Ashby as born around 1538. However, the 1619 Visitation Of Leicestershire and other sources put Elizabeth as having a son born seem to put Elizabeth as married to John or Johannes Warde of Carlton Curlew Leicestershire and having a son born around 1528.

The visitation has Robert's father as another Robert Ashby, brother of George and son of William Ashby.
