Biography
Charlotte Ashby's first marriage 11 Dec 1802, Capt. Mann L. Satterwhite, Jr., Rev. War b. 1760 d. 184. Charlotte Ashby was the daughter of Capt. John "Rufus" Ashby and wife (2) m. 27 Oct 1783, Catherine Huffman. John Ashby received a letter of reprimand from Gen. George Washington for the conduct of wife (1) Jane Combs, who had a tavern in Virginia that served officers of the British army, Gen. Washington did not approve. Charlotte Ashby married Wilson Hobbs Parker after the death of Mann L. Satterwhite, Jr.
