It seems that while Ernestina, Morris, WIlliam and Louisa all came to the Old West at least one sister remained. Her son, a surgeon by the name of Dr. William Boss (I am almost sure it is Wilhelm don't you?), wrote about the conditions in Posen as WWI had begun. Basically he says they'd seen no economic change and all seemed well. He also says he had the honor or giving a hospital tour to the Kaiserin Augusta Victoria. This article was published in the Lassen paper 18 Dec 1914 but was in the San Fran Call 30 Nov 1914 after William Asher received it.
The lines I found most exciting (along with the new surname of Boss), "Here in Wroclaw everything is the same as if there was no war. Business is enjoying it's customary prosperity here, in the province of Silesiaa/Silesiaa/Schlesiennn (now Wroclaw) and in Posen."
Ascher - German/Polish; Leo Baeck Inst. LBI has tree beginning 1801; Paul Diamant, Jewish Encyclopedia and Universal Jewish Encyclopedia all have some records. Records dates to 17th century and probably a variation of Asch. See also JAFFE
