Elizabeth (her mother) daughter of James and Ann (Goodwin) Balch, was born on the North side of Deer creek in Maryland, and was married to James Ashmore [her father] and had seven children: William, James, Samuel, Amos, Hannah, Margaret, and Rhoda.
