Note that my paternal name, Askey, was orginally Erskine around 1750. There are other Askeys in England that are not DNA matches so there are least two distinct lines of Askeys in the US/Europe.
The name Erskine comes from a place in Scotland. In the 1500-1700s, last names were not always taken from the father. Many Erskines claimed their surname from the location and are not necessarily related. One famous Erskine, Ebenezer, is not related to my paternal line as noted through DNA testing.[3]
He grew up in Windham, Pennsylvania, USA. He has lived in Lock Haven PA, York ME, Huntsville AL, El Paso TX, Sayre PA, Madison AL, and Stormstown PA. He currently lives in Parker Colorado.
He has a BS in Chemistry and has worked as a Software Engineer for the past 25 years.
He enjoys coaching little league, investing, and collecting and collating family history.
He has tested his DNA at FamilyTreeDNA and 23andMe.

I just want to say thanks for all of your research in the early central PA region. It looks like we have quite a few ancestors in common, and that many of our other ancestors were likely neighbors. I keep seeing your name come up during my own research, and thought it was about time I said thanks for all of the help :)
Welcome to the One Name Study project, Andy! I have awarded you the project badge. The One Name Study project page has instructions and a list of suggestions for different ways to get started. Let me know if you have any questions.
Hi. I am mostly concerned with the descendents of Thomas Erskine/Askey (1727-1807). I have little/no info of other lines and will approve any merge requested on these lines.
I see that you have an interest in DNA study and have taken a DNA test. Would you be interested in starting a One Name Study for your surname or another name you are researching? The purpose of the One Name Study is to coordinate any WikiTreers who are researching one particular surname and to provide a resource for collaboration
For instructions on how to get started and suggestions for getting the most out of your study, see: One Name Study

There is a problem with the Wilhelm Quattlebaum listed as the son of Dr. Joseph Morgan Quattlebaum and Iva Belle. He is obviously a different Wilhelm than the one listed, who is Petter Q's father, the ultimate known patriarch of the Qs, born in Germany in 1675.
I'm hoping to clean up the children of Peter Quattlebaum. There are some pending merges for his children that you should be able to help with. Could you review your pending merges?
I have sent you trusted list requests and have yet to hear from you. I hope you are well and that you will make contact soon re Erskine clan profiles.

To find the relationship, we searched for an ancestor shared by both Kitty Cooper-1 Smith and Andy Askey. http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:Relationship
Visit http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:BrowseMatches and click "Merges Waiting on Me" to see all of the Quattlebaum matches that you administer. Thanks for your help.
