Wesley was born in 1847 and passed away in 1916 from having arm amputated and a resultant infection.
He was a fisherman, hunter, trapper, clammer and woodsman. He also played the fife. When he passed away, he and his family were living in a houseboat that was pulled ashore right across from the railroad station in North Buena Vista, IA.
