Harriet Atkins, born 6 May 1835, daughter of Thomas Atkins, a husbandman, & Mary (nee Clark), was christened on 13 May 1835 in Postwick, Norfolk, England.^[1]

In 1851 Harriet Atkins (age 16) lived in Postwick with her father Thomas (49, Labourer/Pauper), mother Mary (47), and five siblings: Thomas (20, Ag Labourer), George (14, Ag Labourer), James (10, Scholar), Sarah (8, Scholar), and William (6, Scholar).^[2]
