Biography
Mahala was the youngest of the children of Thomas Atkins and Sarah Ansley. (There are records that claim she was a twin of her sister Hulda, but this is beyond doubt an error.) She wrote a saga of her family that has been widely used as a reference for other books. She is buried in Section 12, Lot 1 of Shiloh Cemetery, Mays, Rush, IN (Find-a-Grve Mem. 30108489)
