Biography

Babe was born with cerebral palsy. Her mother in child birth. Her grandmother Rachel raised her. After grandmother's death she lived at the Dallas County Poor Farm. She was very deformed, but very intelligent. She was very religious. Her Uncle Louis read her the bible. When I was a child, we would go visit her. She was always so happy. I remember the time we went and she was thrilled to finally be able to feed herself. She was finally transferred to a nursing home in Osceola, IA. She always had what we would now call a bucket list. Two of them were to fly in an airplane and another to camp out in the mountains. She accomplished both these.
