Elizabeth Atkins was born about 1752 in either Virginia or North Carolina, the daughter of Ica Atkins Sr and Anne Hutchins. She is identified as deceased daughter, Elizabeth Rand, the wife of William Rand, in her father's Cumberland, North Carolina, will dated 23 Nov 1796. The will also identifies her son Abraham Rand.[1][2]
She married William Rand Jr, the son of Willam Rand Sr and Sophia Almand about 1772.

The 1790 census for the Fayette district of Cumberland (now Harnet) County shows the William Rand Jr. family to be composed of: two white males over the age of sixteen (William Jr. and son Abraham), four females (wife Elizabeth and three daughters), and 21 slaves.[3]
Elizabeth Atkins Rand is believed to have died the following year in 1791 in Cumberland, North Carolina. Her husband remarried (2) Elizabeth Stroud, 20 Oct 1792, in Orange, North Carolina. [4]
