Esther Atkins was born about 1653-54.[1] She married George Pike of Mendon, Massachusetts. He was deceased by the time she received her share of her father's estate, but only very recently. No issue has been found. She may have been the Esther Pike who married John Reed in Mendon, on 1 Jan 1717.
She may have been born in the area now known as Phippsburg. However, first mention of him is on 15 May 1654 in a list of inhabitants along the Kennebec who were ordered to meet at the house of Thomas Ashley at Merry Meeting to take the oath of fidelity and conduct other business under the jurisdiction of New Plymouth (Plymouth Colony Records Court Orders, vol. 3, p 58-62. Whether that supports or precludes living "in Phippsburg", I don't know. He is said to have made his large purchase of land from the Indians in 1663 in some sources, 1656 in others, and there is some mention of a Mr. "Thomas Ackings" peripheral to transactions of Mr. Francis Knight and Mr, John Holland in 1648.
