Margaret Atwood is/was a significant Ontarian .

Margaret Atwood is a Canadian poet, novelist, literary critic, essayist, and environmental activist. Atwood is a founder of the Griffin Poetry Prize and the Writers' Trust of Canada. She is also a Senior Fellow of Massey College, Toronto. She is the inventor of the LongPen device and associated technologies that facilitate remote robotic writing of documents.[1]

Margaret Eleanor Atwood was born in Ottawa, Ontario on November 18, 1939. She is the daughter of Carl and Margaret (Killam) Atwood.

Margaret is still living.
