Biography

Mary was born in 1885. She was the daughter of Frank Aull and Martha Aud. She passed away in 1972. ^[1]

Sheet 13A shows Fank Aull (48), his wife Marthia (42) and ten children, Earnest (21), Ray (21), Florance (17), Oscar (16), Maud (14), Elsee (11), Frank (10), Alma (5), Ira (4) and Ellen (10 mos.). Frank reports to be a farmer and they are renting the farm upon which they reside. The couple reports they have been married for 23 years and that all 10 of their children are still alive. The oldest two sons were born in Kentucky and all of the rest were born in Illinois. Her older brother is again listed on the same census page.

Hezekih reports he and his parents were born in Kentucky while Maude reports she was born in Illinois and her parents were born in Kentucky. Both of their children were born in Illinois. They report they have been married 4 years and that both of their children are still alive. He reports to be a general farmer.

Sheet 2A shows Hess K. Jones (40), wife Maud (34) and children Frances (13), Maria (11), Clarence (6), Roy (4) and Velma (1 mos.) living on the farm they rent. Hess reports he and his parents were born in Kentucky while Maude reports she was born in Illinois and her parents were born in Kentucky. All of their children were born in Illinois. He reports to be a general farmer.

Sheet 1A shows Hezekish Jones (51), wife Mary M. (44) and children Mary F. (23), Clarence W. (16), Roy A. (15), Velma E. (10) and Martha L. (2) living on the farm they own. The couple reports he was 27 and she was 20 when they married. Reporting of the birth place for them and their parents is consistent with prior census reporting. Hezekiah is a farmer and daughter Mary is a school teacher at a public school.

Sheet 1A shows Hezekiah Jones (61), wife Maude Mary (54) and Roy Aloysis (24), Velma Eline (20) and Martha Louise (12) living on the farm they own. The farm is valued at $5,000. Hezekiah reports having a 4th grade education, Maude an 8th grade one Roy an 8th grade one, Velma has completed 4 years of high school. They report they were living in the same house in 1935. Hezekiah reports to be a farmer, Roy a farm laborer and Velma a clerk in a store.

~ Family history “Mary Maude married Hezekiah Jones in 1906, a farmer. They were the parents of 6 children. One is deceased, Clarence died at the age of 57 from a heart attack in the year of 1970. Sister Mary Francis, a Dominican Nun for 50 years and Maria both live in Springfield, Roy lives in Taylorville, Lorraine and Velma in Morrisonville. The folks retired from the farm in 1943, and moved into Morrisonville. Dad died in 1945. Mother’s eyesight was very poor for a number of years, but was able to live alone with help from the family. What a good mind she had, keeping up on current events and interested in all going on in the family. She died in 1972 after being in the hospital only a week from heart failure, at the age of 87.
