Jesse was born in 1773 in Canterbury, Windham, Connecticut Colony.^{[citation needed]}

The following children have been assigned to Jesse, without a known mother:

There are no sources to support his parentage of these sons.

He married Sarah Eldredge about 1800 in New York.^[1]

Between the births of Cyrus and Eldridge, therefore about 1810, the family moved from Essex Co., New York to Gallia Co., Ohio.

Jesse's son Cyrus Austin died on 20 April 1872 in Arcada Township, Gratiot, Michigan, United States. Jesse and Sarah Austin were listed as his parents.^[2]

Jesse died in 1839 in Ohio.^{[citation needed]}
