Willis was Choctaw.

Willis was born about 1856 in the Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory, the son of Samuel Austin and Sin Tin Honah Viney. Willis passed away 14 May 1920 at Valliant, McCurtain, Oklahoma. [2]
