James was born between 1802 & 1806 in Wattisfield, Suffolk. His parents are unknown. James married Ann (surname unknown) possible before 1830. His wife, Ann born between 1807 & 1811 In 1841, James lived in Thelnetham, Suffolk. Aged 35. Surname spelling is noted as AUSTEN. He may have resided in Green Oak not far from Wood Lane. [1] In 1851, James lived in Thelnetham, Suffolk . Aged 48 [2] In 1861, James lived in Thelnetham, Suffolk . Aged 58. His place of birth says Badwell, Suffolk. [3] In 1871, James was a lodger in Carshalton Parish, Surrey and a shepherd. Aged 68. [4] Please note this record can NOT be confirmed that this is James. In 1881, James is shown as residing in High Street, Thelnetham. Aged 78. He is shown as being a widower. [5]
