Joseph is said to be the son of Francis Austin and Isabella (Bland) Leavitt but no proof has been provided yet. I am detaching parents until more research can be done. (If there is proof in one of the books listed below please add the volume and page).(Silva-1055 13:38, 18 January 2019 (UTC))

If I'm reading the (old style) text correctly it looks like Joseph Austin's profile should be included within the PGM project. In the following source he was among the second settlement 'wave' (if 9 men can be referred to as such) at Hampton, New Hampshire which occured in the summer of 1640. The first wave being in July 1639 and headed up by Stephen "Bachiler" minister.

Boutin, Nathaniel, D.D., comp., ed. "New Hampshire Provincial and State Papers: Documents and Papers relating to the Province of New Hampshire, 1623-1686" Vol. 1: p.151. "A note of the families in Hampton" Concord, N.H., USA: New Hampshire Hiistorical Society, 1807. Reprinted (online db) FamilySearch.org https://www.familysearch.org/library/books/viewer/29693/?offset=0#page=167&viewer=picture&o=search&n=0&q=Austin

One other item: Given the info. about the Hampton settlement, just passed along, his birth year estimate is probably more in the range of 1620, give or take.

Do you have sources showing the attached Francis Austin is the father? If not, can you detach him as a parent and just put a link in the biography with notes on why he may be the father? Thanks!
