Biography

Joseph Kelly Auxier was born 25 December 1822 in Kentucky, United States. He was the son of Samuel Lewis Auxier and Rebecca (Phillips) Auxier

  • In 1850 Joseph Auxier was living in Johnson County, Kentucky, United States with his family. He was 25 born in Kentucky and listed as deaf. His father Samuel Auxier was 57 born in Virginia, working as a farmer and had $200 in real estate. His mother was deceased. His step-mother Agness was 29 born in Kentucky. The others in the home were siblings: Samuel 21; Martha 21; Thomas 16; Margaret 11; Elijah 9; William L 7; James K 5; Angelina 3.[1]

Joseph K Auxier married E Jane (Walker) 5 Dec 1850 .[2]

  • In 1870 Joseph K Auxier was living in Prestonsburg Precinct, Floyd County, Kentucky, United States with his family. He was 47 born in Kentucky, working as a farmer, has no real estate and personal estate worth $450. His wife Elizabeth was 39 born in Virginia. The others in the home were: Mary Shortridge age 10; James White 9.[3]

He died 10 April 1896.[4]

He was buried in the Hobson Cemetery, Floyd County, Kentucky, United States.[4]
