John Ayers III is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A002177.

John Ayers, son of John and Mary (Creshon) Ayers, was born on 4 June 1719 at Basking Ridge, New Jersey.[1][2]

John Ayers married Joanna by about 1740. Date 1739 Morristown, Morris, New Jersey.

He married Sarah Bailey or Bailie on 17 Jan. 1754 [3].

John Ayers died at Morris Plains, New Jersey and was buried at First Presbyterian Churchyard, Morristown, Morris County, New Jersey. His Find A Grave: Memorial #12124949 has a photo of his headstone, biographical material and links to those of family members.

Notes

Charles Ayers shows only two wives for John, Joanna and Sarah. He shows the 6 youngest children as children of Joanna, and the four oldest as children of Sarah. For convenience - until a better source is found - it seems appropriate to assume that Hannah and Joanna are the same person and that he was married only twice.
