Services for William E. Ayers, 88, Shawnee, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 28 at Gaskill Funeral Chapel. Rev. Herman Coffman will officiate. Burial will be in Blackburn Chapel Cemetery. Ayers died Saturday, June 25, at a local hospital. He was born June 4, 1900 in Cleburne ,Texas. He came to Oklahoma in 1904. He lived in Dale and Shawnee communities most of his life. He married Estoria Myers on Dec. 29, 1918 in Tribbey. She died Jan, 5 1979. Ayers was a charter member and deacon of Blackburn Chapel Babtist Church. Surviving relatives include, two daughters and son in law, Vivian and E. C. Farris, and Mildred McVay, all of Shawnee; two sons and daughters in law, Delbert and Stella Ayers, Shawnee, and Warren and Lauretta Ayers, Clovis, N. M.; three sisters, Mattie Gilbert, Chico, Calif., Ona Shirey, Escalon, Calif.; and Ella Murdock, McCloud; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
