Samuel Ayres was born on 1 Jan. 1888[1] at Harlan, Shelby County, Iowa, USA.[2] He appeared on the census of 12 June 1900 in the household of his parents George S. Ayres and Emogene (Craig) Ayres, at Beemer, Cuming Co., Nebraska.[3] He appeared on the census of 26 April 1910 in the household of his parents at Basin, Boyd Co., Nebraska.[4]
He was a stock raiser and farmer when he and Kathryn appeared on the census of 3 Feb. 1920 at Bentz, Gregory County, South Dakota.[7] He was a farmer when he and Kathryn appeared on the census of 8 April 1930 at Star Valley, Gregory County, South Dakota.[6] He was a crusher operator and machinist at a gravel pit when he and Kathryn appeared on the census of 2 April 1940 at Independence, Polk County, Oregon.[8]
Samuel died on 6 Aug. 1991 at Polk County, Oregon,[9] at age 103 and was buried at Mount Crest Abbey Mausoleum, Salem, Marion County, Oregon. His memorial has a photo of his memorial plaque and links to those of family members.[5]
