Private John Ayres Sr served with Buckingham County Militia, Virginia Militia during the American Revolution.

John Ayers Sr. was born in 1752. John Ayers Sr. served as a Private in the Virginia Line of Light Infantry in the Revolutionary War under Capts Robert Cary, William Cannon, Thomas Miller and Col. John Holcombe. He passed away in 1828.
