Simon Babin was born 9 Oct 1735. He was the son of Jean Babin and Marguerite Theriot. He was baptized the day he was born at Saint Charles des Mines, Grand-Pré, Acadia. His godparents were Charles Terriot and Marie Benoit.[1][2]
On 5 September 1755, Simon was imprisoned along with hundreds of other Acadian men at the St. Charles des Mines church in Grand Pré. On a list of prisoners, he was said to live in the village of Grand LeBlanc. No children, property or livestock were recorded for him. Prisoners and their families were required to prepare for deportation within 30 days. [3][4]
He was deported to Virginia aboard the Sally & Molly in October 1755 and the following year to Southampton aboard the Bobby. [4]

Simon who wed Anastasie Theriot was exiled to St. Malo, France and therefore couldn't have died in Thibodaux in 1780 since they didn't come from France until 1785. There are sources for his son and another Simon in SLR Vol1, but nothing for a death of this Simon.
