Nicolas was born about 1633. He passed away about 1704.

Potential sources may be found in the excerpt from the following book: "JEAN(l) who married Margret Meyel/Meier. daughter of Diebold. in 1641 at Finnestangen (Fenestrange). Alsace, is the lineal ancestor of the 13 generations of Bruas set forth in this book. She was his second wife, his first being unknown. He may have had a brother named Martin who witnessed a baptism in Hirschland. In 1667 and was referred to as a merchant. Jean died before 1661. He and Margret had at least five children:

Anna(2) m. Abraham Volanling. son of Valentin, on St. Jude's Day, 1658. in Wolfskirken. Alsace.
Christina(2) m. Niclaus Buchmann. son of Ulrich, 25 Oct. 1661.
Jean(2)b. about 1641 or 1642
