Maria Badgery was born in 1858 at Bombala, New South Wales, Australia. She was a daughter of William Badgery and Margaret Martin.[1]
She married Coulson Murphy in 1882 at Bombala.[2]
After raising a family of eight children at Bombala, Maria and Coulson moved to Western Australia, where Coulson managed the Maneroo property. Her second and third sons, Harrie and Roy, were killed in action in The Great War, both within weeks of the Armistice in 1918.

She passed away as a result of a buggy accident on 22nd September 1924 at Maneroo, Bullaring, Western Australia.[3][4]
