In 1840 David and Sarah were living in Logan County, Virginia near his father and other family members. They left there for Wyoming County about 1847.

Sarah's birth year is based on census records 1840-1880. In 1840 she was listed as age 30-40, born 1800-1810. In 1850, 1860 and 1870 she was listed as age 37, 47 and 57, born 1813. In 1880 she was listed as age 65, born 1815. Best guess is birth in 1813.
Marriage
Sarah married David J. Cooke about 1828/29 based on birth of first child, Margaret, in 1830. Her birth year is from 1850 census which gives her age as 20, born 1830. 1840 census lists her as age 10-15, born 1825-1830.
