Sarah Jane Bailey, daughter of Nathaniel Bailey and Martha Emery, was born before 4 May 1764, when she was baptized at Newbury's Second Church.

She married Capt. Eli Sprague at Calais, c1787, and died at Sprague's Falls (Baileyviille) c1798 of complications from the birth of her daughter, Sarah.
