They were married Dec. 11, 1841. They had Martha K. Bain, Joseph S. Bain, Edwin Bain, William Samuel Bain, Mary Catharine Bain, Richard Bain, Sally Bain, James Bain and Lucy Ellen Bain.

American Civil War Regiments; Military Service: Enlistment: Private, Company E, 33rd Infantry Regiment, Indiana 15 January 1862. Reenlistment: 23 Feb 1864. Wounded at Battle of Peach Tree Creek, Fulton, Georgia on 20 July 1864. Leg was amputated and he died 23 July 1864 in Atlantahospital in Atlanta, Fulton, Georgia.
