Jane Bain (Jane Henderson's mother) married Thomas Henderson (Jane Henderson's father). Jane (Bain) Henderson and Thomas Henderson both died of TB leaving four children, Thomas, John, Jane and William. Their grandmother Jean Nicol Bain took them to Canada when she was 72 by schooner which took 3 months. Thomas and William (Jane's brothers) were placed with Uncle William Henderson, a brother of Thomas Henderson who lived in Millbrook, Wayne, County Ohio. John (Jane's brother) was placed with Uncle John Bain and Jane with Uncle Walter Bain, who both lived in Hamilton, Wentworth County Ontario.
