Biography

Mary E. Orr, 100, a lifetime resident or Benzie Conty, died Nove25, at the Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Center. She was born on 26 December 1891, in Homestead Twp., the daughterof Charles and Margaret (Buchan) Baker. On 15 Apil 1908, in BenzieCounty, she was marrried to Bert Orr who died on June 19, 1970. During her lifetime she was a homemaker who stayed home to carefor her family. She was a member of the Beulah Wesleyan Church inBeulah. She also enjoyed utilizing a loom to creat beautiful rugs. She is survived by three sons, Albet "Pete" Orr of Beulah.William Ellis Orr and James E. "Gene" Orr both of Arcadia, threedaughters, Margaret (Mrs Aaron) Swain of Visalia, Ca, Lillian (MrsCecil) Cook of Zephyrhills, FL and Florence (Mrs Eugene ) Stone ofBeulah; also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren,and 10 gret-great grandchilden. She was proceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and RichardBaker. A service of remembrance was held on Saturday Nov 28 at theBeulah Wesleyan Church. The Rev Roy Davis officiated. Burial tookplace in the Homestead Twp Cemetery. The family suggest memorial contibutions be directed to theBeulah Wesleyan Church or the The Paul Oliver Memorial Hostital LongTerm Care Unit.
